Pulilan Mobile Money Payroll and Bills Payment Launch

Agency for International Development (USAID)/Philippines Deputy Mission
Director Reed Aeschliman together with Department of Budget and
Management (DBM) Undersecretary Richard Bon Moya, Pulilan Mayor Hon.
Vicente Esguerra, Sr., and BPI Globe BanKO President Teresita Tan launch
the “Pulilan Mobile Money Payroll and Bills Payment System” on August
15, 2013. With this system, the residents of Pulilan, Bulacan will
experience the convenience of receiving salaries and paying bills by
using their mobile phones.

USAID’s Scaling Innovations for Mobile Money (SIMM) Projectis assisting the Municipality of
Pulilan to enable mobile money for disbursement of government payroll
and as a payment option for the 5,000 concessionaires of the
government-run water district. Pulilan Local Government Unit’s adoption
of e-payroll and water bills payment system is aligned with the
Philippine Government’s goal to achieve greater transparency and
security in financial transactions of public funds.
